Learning Series: Skills-Based Hiring

ACCE, with support from the Markle Foundation, presents a learning series designed to equip chamber staff with an action-driven strategy they can use to help their community's employers address their workforce challenges.
This series' six, 75-minute weekly sessions will focus on various elements of this talent recruitment strategy, with a review of key concepts, small group activities and limited homework.
- Session topics will explore how to factor in skills when developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, building an interview process that is aligned to skills, screening and evaluating candidates based on skills and more.
- By gaining a foundation in skills-based hiring, participants can upgrade their area's talent attraction practices and can consider how to use their knowledge to form a non-dues revenue opportunity for their chamber.
- Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate.
The first occurrence of this series will meet on Tuesdays from 3-4:15 p.m. ET on the following dates: April 4, 11, 18 and 25; May 2 and 9. The second option to participate will meet on Thursdays from 3-4:15 p.m. ET on the following dates: May 18 and 25; June 1, 8, 15 and 22. These series are identical, so you only need to register for the one that works best for you
Sourcing talent is critical to a company’s operations and chamber members are struggling to retain, attract and promote employees in this economic climate. Join fellow chamber professionals in an interactive training to gain a foundation in skills-based hiring, a talent recruitment strategy where companies identify skills needed to fill open positions and reduce bias.
Register for the skills-based hiring series here. Registration is limited to 25 participants. Questions about the training? Contact [email protected].
