  • The Toledo Regional Chamber hosted Ohio Lt. Governor Jim Tressel to showcase WorkOhio, a new initiative to connect Ohioans with in-demand jobs in their area through personalized support from teams of regional jobs experts. The chamber is one of seven regional hubs leading the effort.
  •  Fayette County Chamber President & CEO Leonardo McClarty, CCE released an op-ed urging the county to embrace a wider spectrum of housing to support the workforce, attract new talent, reduce road congestion and ensure that the community remains vibrant and economically competitive for decades to come.
  • The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber announced the formation of a new county-level political action committee to support candidates and ballot measures that align with promoting a strong business climate and economic growth.
  •  The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau launched the Summit County Business Survey to gather feedback from businesses and employees to help shape programs, benefits and advocacy efforts.
  •  The West Monroe–West Ouachita Chamber offered workspace and support to businesses impacted by a recent winter storm. The chamber made public WiFi and workspace areas are now available for anyone who needs a reliable place to work, meet or reconnect. It also connected businesses to recovery resources, recommended local service providers and helped share announcements and update operating hours of local businesses.
  • The Minnesota Chamber released a letter on behalf of more than 60 CEOs calling for a deescalation of tensions and urging local, state and federal officials to work together following two fatal shootings by federal agents during the recent immigration enforcement operation.
  • The Wichita Chamber backed a proposed 1-percent sales tax that will appear on the ballot in an upcoming special election. The chamber said the proposal would strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness through investments in infrastructure, public safety housing and downtown development.
  • The Illinois Hispanic Chamber launched an initiative to help small businesses and neighborhoods in the Chicago region recover from the effects of federal immigration enforcement actions. The Resilient Communities Initiative will offer business grants of $1,500 to $5,000, provide resources and support for entrepreneurs and run a “shop local” campaign to support businesses in affected areas.
  • The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, through funding secured by United States Senator John Boozman, and in partnership with the Little Rock Regional Chamber and Little Rock Port Authority, announced plans to build a state-of-the-art workforce training center at the Port of Little Rock. This transformational center will be designed to expand skilled talent pipelines and support the growing manufacturing and logistics industries in Central Arkansas.
