The Secret to Achieving More

Partner Solutions / November 6, 2023

By Catherine Juon, Certified EOS Implementer®

Does your organization have people? That may sound like a silly question, or a frustrating one, depending on where you’re sitting. Perhaps you wish you had more people. Or different people. Or people that would just (fill in the blank).

Even if your chamber staff consists solely of you, chances are there are other people directly involved in your mission, including volunteers and board members.

Here’s another question: thinking about all of those people, are they all on the same page? Are they completely, 100% in alignment with the vision and the plan to achieve your goals?

While every organization has a vision, few are truly in alignment. For example, imagine someone interviewing all of your employees (or volunteers) and board members today. Odds are, we’d hear a similar vision, but not the SAME vision.

The secret to achieving more is true alignment.

Run that same experiment with some of the highest-performing chambers in ACCE and you’ll find alignment. You’ll also find they’re running on a business operating system called the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS).

As Gino Wickman, author of the book Traction and the creator of EOS® says, “At its core, EOS is all about aligning human energy.” This is true for any organizations that have people – for-profit and nonprofit organizations alike.

In fact, I believe systems like EOS have a particularly vital role to play when resources (like people, money, and time) are scarce. I’ve become particularly passionate about EOS in nonprofits over the last couple of years while implementing for two organizations serving children in South Africa. If EOS can work there, it can work anywhere.

The truth is, whether EOS is implemented in a for-profit or a nonprofit, every organization is a snowflake. There’s no one-size-fits-all meeting pulse for boards or Measurables (aka Key Performance Indicators) or for solving tough people issues.

EOS is a framework for solving those issues. It’s a proven system of simple, practical tools that simplifies running an organization – so you can put more of your energy into serving your community.

And with over 100,000 companies Running on EOS™, there’s a wealth of experience for you to tap into: here at ACCE, at the EOS Conference™ and in this collection of EOS Non-Profit Resources.
