As If Card Check Isn't Enough...

"Backed by increased Democratic majorities in Congress and a labor-friendly president in the White House, unions hope to move several bills that would strengthen labor and increase union membership.."

According to nonpartisian Congressional newspaper The Hill, Card Check is not the only federal legislation that unions will push hard in 2009.  They are also trying to pass bills that would allow collective bargaining for public servants and extend the time workers could file wage discrimination lawsuits.

The article also reports that organized labor is likely to press for a hefty economic stimulus package and health care reform, and want a seat at the table during alternative energy and climate change discussions.
