2010 Leaky Bucket Report - Kentucky Chamber of Commerce

This report details research conducted by the Kentucky Chamber, which found that the state's budget is leaking tax dollars in three major areas -- corrections, Medicaid, and public employee health benefits. These three big "leaks" are taking critical funds away from public education.

This update examines state spending trends since the 2011 update, outlines significant actions that have taken place to address the leaks since then, and identifies the challenges that remain.

Smart Justice Focus Group Brief - Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce conducted 5 focus groups during March-June 2016 with 17 HR/Talent Acquisition Directors from trusted LA businesses to learn more about hiring practices regarding formerly incarcerated individuals and those that have criminal records. The Chamber's goal was to better understand employers' views, and the factors companies consider, when making hiring decisions about people with criminal records.

Prop 47 Jobs & Services Taskforce Report - Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce

In 2014, California voters approved Proposition 47: The Safe Neighborhoods and School Act (Prop 47), which reduced certain drug and property crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. Taskforce II, the Prop 47 Jobs & Services Taskforce, was charged with developing a plan to launch public-private partnerships to help Prop 47-eligible residents access employment and training services, as well as wrap around support services, such as mental health, health care, housing and substance abuse counseling.
