The President is responsible to Board of Directors for a full range of activities, including but not limited to planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Chamber's services, products, economic development and public policy activities for association’s members and responds to the needs of its members within available and agreed upon financial resources. Oversees the affiliate organizations of the GMCC including the Groton Business Association and Greater Mystic Chamber Foundation.
The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce is recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer. The CEO by authority granted from the Board of Directors, serves as part of the leadership team of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce along with its affiliate the Convention and Visitors Bureau. This position has the overall responsibility for all programs, planning and operations of the Chamber.
The President works under the authority granted by the Board of Directors to implement the Board's policies and procedures. The president is responsible for all financial, operational, administrative and legal aspects of the daily operations of the chamber. The President and CEO will demonstrate openness to ideas from a variety of sources and focus on achieving "best in class" outcomes.
The President will focus on executive leadership in all aspects of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce. The chosen candidate will collaborate with the Board of Directors to oversee and orchestrate the Chamber's major initiatives for regional growth, involvement of key business leaders in the priority issues of the region, promotion of the Shoals region as a leader in business success and economic development, recruiting and retention of young talent to the region, encouragement of minority business success and expansion, community outreach, building and advancing a positive differentiating community image, and more, while coordinating the efforts of a willing, professionally prepared staff and committed volunteer group.
The basic function of the Communications & Marketing Director is to oversee communications efforts of the Chamber and to lead in the development of all promotional literature, online postings and the writing and distribution of all press releases and media inclusions.
