In 2017-2018, the Detroit Regional Chamber engaged in a yearlong awareness campaign to encourage civility in political discourse in the Detroit region. This campaign stemmed from a to-do item from the Chamber's 2017 Mackinac Policy Conference — an annual convening of more than 1,700 business, government and community leaders to re-energize Michigan. The Chamber dedicated its October 2017 issue of the Detroiter magazine to civility. The magazine featured 13 stories of key leaders in government, community, philanthropy and the media, dubbed "Champions of Civility," who work across party lines toward a common goal of improving lives for all Michiganders.

Recognizing the importance of respect, compromise and collaboration in Detroit's comeback, the Chamber dedicated its entire annual Detroit Policy Conference around the theme of Creating a Culture of Civility. The Conference annually brings together business, government, and community leaders to discuss issues important to Detroit's ongoing revitalization.

This January 22, the leaders of 27 metropolitan chambers of commerce will come together in the lead-up to the next round of NAFTA negotiations. The goal of this meeting will be to clearly identify the issues around the renewal of NAFTA and the risks that our companies would face in the event of the current negotiations' failure. This event is an initiative of the Canadian Global Cities Council (CGCC), a coalition of Canada's eight largest metropolitan chambers of commerce. Besides these eight Canadian chambers, eleven American and eight Mexican chambers of commerce will be in attendance. See 1/22/2018 Press Release.

The leaders of 25 metropolitan chambers of commerce from Canada, the United States and Mexico gathered in Montreal today in anticipation of the next round of NAFTA negotiations. The goal of this meeting was to clearly identify the issues surrounding the renewal of NAFTA, to understand the risks for businesses in the event of the current negotiations' failure, and especially to send a clear message to the three governments on the importance of an updated agreement and maintaining open access to the entire North American market. At the end of this meeting, all chambers present signed a joint statement stressing the importance of maintaining the North American Free Trade Agreement for the economies of the three countries and their cities. How We Stand is the Chandler Chamber's legislative agenda. The publication not only offers voting dates, but information for voters and legislative delegation alike, to make educated decisions. How We Stand increases the awareness of the Chandler Chamber's public policy priorities to business and community.

Fayette Community SOURCE magazine is a quality-of-life magazine produced by the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. The magazine includes photos, data, information and feature articles that showcase the stories of Fayette County and the people, places and way-of-life that makes the community a great place to live and do business. The publication is intended as a resource and promotional tool for visitors and new residents, as well as a "brag book" for Fayette citizens. The publication includes a printed Chamber membership directory, which serves as a value-added benefit for members.

The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce produces an Annual Report each year that highlights the year's events, programs, people, and accomplishments. The theme for 2017-18 was Make an Impact and the Chamber chose to do a play on words for the cover...Macon Impact, Macon being the city we serve in. The goal each year in doing the Annual Report is to inform the business and general community on what the Chamber has been busy doing to advance business success, that in turn positions Macon as the best place in which to do business.
