This document serves as a 2016 update to The Eagle County Economic Development Plan, September 2013. Its purpose is to build on what we've learned, acknowledge where progress has been made, and outline the core objectives and strategies that our community should implement and build upon over the next 3-5 years to drive local economic growth. This plan is designed to create new opportunities and jobs within Eagle County by broadening the economic base in existing areas of strength and helping to support developing opportunity segments. These efforts will help increase sales tax revenues, grow and retain jobs, provide support for businesses to create year-round availability and build a business climate attractive to entrepreneurs and growth businesses. Its vision is for Downtown Evansville to be a unique place to live, work, dine, invest, and play. Strategic goals of Downtown Alliance are to encourage investment in Downtown Evansville; foster a spirit of collaboration among Downtown stakeholders; implement a brand that promotes and supports Downtown growth and spans generations; host select impactful events that draw people throughout the region to Downtown businesses; and advance policies that foster and support more public and private investment Downtown. R.E.A.C.H. is the Chamber's five-year strategic plan--to support existing businesses while creating an environment that promotes jobs and the high quality opportunities Longview has to offer. By leveraging our many strengths, we believe we can improve the local economy and further enhance quality of life. R.E.A.C.H. is the framework for achieving these vital goals. The Longview Chamber administered a Horizons Board of Directors Survey in the fall to create the new plan. The Longview Chamber used ACCE's Horizon Initiative: Chambers of the Future to help guide their new Strategic Plan.
