Export-Import Bank Brief - Association of Washington Business

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) is the official export credit agency of the United States federal government. The mission of the Bank is to create and sustain U.S. jobs by financing sales of U.S. exports to international buyers. The Ex-Im Bank offers four financial products: direct loans, loan guarantees, working capital guarantees and export credit insurance. The Bank is chartered as a government corporation by Congress; it was last chartered for a three-year term in 2012. The U.S. Export-Import Bank's current charter is set to expire in June 2015, and a lapse in authorization would threaten the competitiveness of manufacturers in the United States.
