2016 ACE: Grand Award

According to a recent report from the Manufacturing institute, there are 2 million manufacturing positions that will go unfilled in the next decade due to lack of workforce. As baby boomers retire yet industry continues to grow, the gap of skilled workers widens. In addition, the same study showed that Gen Y, those between 19 and 33, ranked manufacturing as their least preferred career path. Locally, Greenville County eighth graders ranked manufacturing 14th out of 16 career clusters in their individual graduation plan. So if the previous generation is retiring and the next is uninterested, who will be working? For Greer, the problem hits close to home. With the largest BMW plant in the world less than 10 minutes from downtown, Greer has proven itself a progressive and innovative community built on a foundation of manufacturing and industry. The GreerMade certification program is designed to celebrate this tradition while promoting both the careers and companies associated with it, to the next generation of workforce.

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber first launched VeloCity, an interactive digital newsletter after a Site Relocation Attitudinal Study found that senior managers and employees have a negative perception of Oklahoma City. VeloCity was initially part of a targeted, nationwide image campaign in 2011. However, VeloCity was so well-received that the Chamber chose to continue publishing issues indefinitely. VeloCity is now an important, permanent marketing tool of the Chamber that directly ties into the Chamber's mission of promoting Oklahoma City on a national level.

This brochure calls Chattanooga "The Center of the Automotive South" and highlights its 5 star location and infrastructure, manufacturing-oriented workforce and training opportunities, business-friendly environment, and outstanding quality of life.

Here's Our Proof Campaign: Synopsis - Commerce Lexington Inc.

2016 ACE: Grand Award

In 2015, Lexington's Keeneland Race Course hosted The Breeders' Cup World Championships, which is the Super Bowl of thoroughbred racing over two days. With an international audience set to descend on our community, Commerce Lexington Inc.'s economic development team recognized the unique opportunity to market our community to horse owners and investors. With a mission to recruit new companies to Lexington, as well as assist our existing businesses grow, Commerce Lexington Inc. targeted these people, because many of them own and manage corporations. As part of our sponsorship of The Breeders' Cup, we developed a marketing campaign called "Here's Our Proof," a play on words that highlighted another of Kentucky's signature industries -- bourbon. Leveraging the powerful 'hook' of bourbon, our team developed a bourbon gift box to leave in the owners' hotel rooms.

As part of our sponsorship of The Breeders' Cup, we developed a marketing campaign called "Here's Our Proof," a play on words that highlighted another of Kentucky's signature industries -- bourbon. Leveraging the powerful 'hook' of bourbon, our team developed a bourbon gift box to leave in the owners' hotel rooms. With "Here's Our Proof" etched on the wooden box with a purple wax seal, the wording was meant to get people thinking about 'proof' in two ways -- bourbon proof and proof of success about our city. For both, it's about the quality of the product -- "what makes Lexington great for business?" Inside the box, a miniature Maker's Mark bourbon bottle dipped in purple wax and tasting glass were combined with a booklet about our region's success, encouraging companies to consider Lexington for business.

2015 Membership Directory & Community Profile - O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce

In a continuing effort to promote our members and to be a community resource, the O'Fallon Chamber prints an annual Membership Directory & Community Profile. Each year, 10,000 copies are printed and distributed to every neighborhood in O'Fallon, and mailed to our entire membership of 570. Directories are distributed throughout the rest of the year by including them in our relocation and tourism packets, new and prospective member packets, and at all chamber events. Our city's Economic Development Department also uses them in their attraction and retention efforts.
