WHY I LOVE

NASHVILLE

A few friends from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce share with us why they love the city that they call home.

The vibe of Nashville is diverse, creative and welcoming. It is fun to live in a community with that tone. From writing a song or launching a new business venture to putting the city back together after a major flood, our attitude is entrepreneurial and collaborative. It is inspiring to see people always working together to get things done.
Ralph Schulz | President & CEO

Nashville is a region of collaboration. We’ve witnessed this firsthand as it relates to engagement with our community partners as well as amongst businesses of all shapes and sizes. In addition to this collaborative and welcoming region, we also have an amazing selection of outdoor activities such as beautifully-preserved parks, rivers and lakes, which all have a unique character across each season of the year.
Chris Cotton | Director of Business Growth Initiatives

I think the Nashville Area Chamber’s brand promise says it best: “Every day, people find new ways to take advantage of opportunities offered, to make something from nothing, to make their mark, to realize their dreams.” Nashville… the city of dreams, local arts, small businesses, pedal taverns, music – for which we’re most affectionately known – and a leader of innovation and technology. Creativity is literally around every corner. You can’t leave the city without pedaling through downtown on a pedal tavern or visiting Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria and Kung Fu Saloon! Good food and great times indeed.

Nashville has a big heart and a playful soul. We are friendly and gracious as we go about our busy lives. We go out of our way to be helpful and kind. We’re not afraid to take on big challenges, work and play hard and laugh at ourselves. Music is in the fabric of lives.
Nancy Eisenbrandt, CCE | COO & Chief Workforce Development Officer

I love Nashville because Nashville is home. I don’t mean because I’m from Nashville or because I live in Nashville. I mean it just feels like home. Some estimates say that close to 100 people a day are moving here so it’s obviously an appealing city. But if you talk to any Nashvillian, it doesn’t matter if they’ve been here a week, a year or their entire lives, Nashville is home.
Lee Harrell | Vice President of Policy

Nashville has an infectious vibrancy that feeds your inner creativity and instantly makes you feel at home. Whether you're a native or newcomer, Nashville embraces you as its own, all the while, extending a helping hand. It's hard not to love a community that continually gives back and loves you as much as you love it.
Alex Hughes | Vice President, Talent Attraction and Retention

Nashville is home sweet home to me. Being a native, I am so proud to see the growth of my city. All the people relocating here is exciting. The opportunities are endless. It’s affordable and a great place to raise a family, start a business, work, become educated, retire and have fun. Oh yes, Nashville is a big city now but still has a down home feel. I love it!
Rita McDonald | Director of Member Relations

Nashville is a wonderful place with friendly people. I have enjoyed raising my family here. There is nothing like spending the day at the park, lake, or going downtown to listen to a variety of music. But I must admit, my favorite is eating Nashville’s hot chicken.
Odette Morales | Accounting Manager

There's an energy in Nashville that comes from living in a city filled with creative people. Be it music, food, fashion, or art, Nashville offers a vibrant scene accessible to everyone.
Lori Odom | Director of International Business

Moving to Nashville four years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. In Nashville, people are more than willing to help make transplants, like myself, feel welcome and included in the community. As Nashville experiences tremendous growth, it has been wonderful to see Nashvillians come together to ensure everyone has access to grow and thrive as we live, work and play in Music City.
Robert Rosario | Director of Sponsorship

Music is the lifeblood of this city – and I love Nashville’s diverse, eclectic music scene. Every night of the week, you can go to a club and listen to jazz, soul, R&B, country or Americana music. Whether it’s Sunday Night Soul at the 5 Spot, the Grand Ole Opry, or Music City Roots at the Factory in Franklin, Nashville has an incredibly talented community of musicians, and we have a front row seat every day.
Laura Ward | Director, Middle Tennessee Reconnect Community

The Nashville region is so rich in history and culture, from Civil War battlefields and a replica of the Parthenon (which makes us the “Athens of the South”) to the Grand Ole Opry, there is always something to do. Want to talk about food? Try Loveless Café, Jack Bar-B-Que, Hattie B’s or Jeff Ruby Steakhouse. Nashville has become a food lover’s dream. And let me take you for a walk down Broadway: you have every genre of live music that makes your feet want to dance. Trust me, you won’t leave disappointed. On top of all that, Nashville has sports teams, state parks and greenways, festivals, a growing economy, friendly people and a vibrant community. I am incredibility blessed to work with a diverse array of businesses from risk takers to Fortune 500 companies and everything in between. What’s not to love about Nashville?
Odilia “Odie” Caduff | Senior New Member Representative
