How do I get member retention data? I’ve heard about Dynamic Chamber Benchmarking. How do I use it?
In just a few steps you can produce a customized version for your report or presentation, just like this:
Once you’ve logged in to Dynamic Chamber Benchmarking (DCB) via the HERO portal (http://www.acce.org/information-office/), confirm that your chamber has entered its Chamber Profile and Operations Survey data for Fiscal Year 2014. You can do this by choosing each of these sections from the Home drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Chambers that have entered at least 50 percent of their data have free access to comparisons and reports.
Next, select Operations Survey from the Home menu and then click on Reports and Charts. This is where you can apply filters to customize operations data for your chamber.
In this example, we applied two filters: chambers with
$2-5 million in revenue, and population between 250,000 and 499,999. Once we save these filters (by selecting “Change” to edit and “Apply to save), we can select the report to download and produce our slide. Tip: Use the powerful “Peer Cluster” filter to create your own benchmarking group with chambers you select.
You can find member retention and market penetration slides in the full Operations Survey report or the smaller Membership Statistics report, both of which are under the Reports and Charts tab on the DCB menu. Your filters will be applied within these reports. Simply download the report, locate the slide you want, and use the Export function in PowerPoint to produce a .pdf version of this slide. Or, apply data filters under the Compare Chambers tab and see all Operations Survey data and comparisons, question by question, for each module (Financial,
Chamber Board, Chamber Members, and Staffing & Benefits) with your chamber’s response compared to the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles. You can also save these data points using the graph icon to the right of the metric, and view or download the chart as a PDF or PPT to create your custom slides. If you have questions, email HERO@acce.org and we’ll help you take advantage of all the Dynamic Chamber Benchmarking platform has to offer.
What are the most common affinity programs that chambers offer their members?
