The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce (Alberta) announced that Robin Bobocel is the organization’s new CEO. Bobocel’s previous work experience includes serving as chief of staff to the minister of innovation and advanced education, as well as COO and vice president of policy of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. Most recently Bobocel served as executive director of Concrete Alberta.

 

John Boylan was named president and CEO of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce (Va.). He succeeds Eileen Curtis, who retired after leading the chamber for 23 years. Boylan, an Air Force veteran, was previously principal of Bridget Partners, responsible for developing strategy, marketing and business development for businesses in healthcare, defense, energy and infrastructure.

 

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce (Calif.) recently hired Ken Brengle, CCE, IOM, as its new executive director. Brengle comes to the position with more than 30 years of chamber experience, having managed chambers throughout Colorado, Wyoming and California. Prior to assuming the position, Brengle worked for MUFG Union Bank in Southern California.

 

Carole Chambers is the new president and CEO of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (Iowa). Chambers was previously director of strategic partnerships at the Business Record.

 

RowanWORKS (N.C.) has appointed economic development executive Rodney “Rod” A. Crider, CEcD, CCE, as president and CEO. He previously served as president of the Wayne County Economic Development Council (Ohio) since 2005. Crider, who has more than 30 years of experience in job creation and economic development, has led similar organizations and chambers of commerce in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia.

 

Tom Curtin has been named as the next president and CEO of the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce (N.J.). He most recently served as publisher of the weekly business journal NJBiz.

El Paso Chamber (Texas) President and CEO Richard Dayoub, CCE, IOM, announced his intent to step down from his position at the end of the year. Dayoub, who has led the chamber for 13 years and was an active member of ACCE’s board of directors, plans to begin a business consulting practice once he leaves the chamber. A search to find Dayoub’s successor is underway.

 

David Farris has been named the new president and CEO of the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce (N.C.). Farris, who was vice president and general manager of Farris Motors in Rocky Mount for almost 40 years and served as the chamber’s board chairman in 2006, succeeds Theresa Pinto who retired earlier this year.

 

Michael Gallops is the new president and CEO of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce (Texas). An Air Force veteran, he is also a former city council member and mayor pro tem who has been involved in the Rowlett community for many years. He has served the chamber in multiple capacities, including as an ambassador, director, chair-elect and board chair. He is also president and CEO of the Chamber Foundation’s board.

 

Kristin Glass, IOM, vice president of member services, has been named interim CEO of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce (Ill./Iowa). She steps into the role following the announcement that Tara Barney, who served as CEO of the chamber since its formation in 2010, is stepping down.

 

Oz Griebel, president and CEO of the MetroHartford Alliance (Conn.), announced his decision to leave his position at the end of the year to pursue other leadership opportunities. He has led the Alliance since its inception in 2001. Griebel, an active member of ACCE’s board of directors, was presented with the Chairman’s Award during ACCE’s convention in Nashville this summer.

 

The Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce (Conn.) has named Brian Griffin as its new president and CEO. Griffin, who had served as the chamber’s vice president, fills the position following the retirement of Edward J. Musante, Jr.

 

Caitlin Holland has taken the helm of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce (Ala.). According to an article published in the Times Daily, “Holland, a Sheffield resident, is a veteran employee of the chamber, where she managed the Rhythm of Commerce capital campaign, and played a key role in launching the chamber's Shoals Alabama Launchpad and CO.STARTERS events that promote local entrepreneurship.”

 

Nick Kieffer, IOM, CP, has been named president/CEO of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce (Ind.), after serving as the organization’s vice president for 10 years. Kieffer serves on the Board of Regents for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute for Organization Management. He succeeds David Daugherty, IOM, AE, who retired in July, after serving as the organization’s president for 14 years. Daugherty was an ACCE member for 40 years.

 

Annette Medlin, IOM, is the new president of the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce (Va.), succeeding Linda Hershey who retired this summer. A familiar face in the chamber world, Medlin’s previous experience includes serving as president of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce (Texas), running a consulting business for chambers, and leading the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce (S.C.).

 

The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce (Wis.) announced David Minor, IOM, as the organization’s next president and CEO. Minor was previously president of the Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce. He is a past board member of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, past board chair for Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives and past board chair for Mid-America Chamber Executives.

 

Michael L. Reever, vice president of government relations at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, has been named acting president and CEO of the organization. The announcement comes following the resignation of Theresa Mintle, who led the organization since 2013.

 

Corpus Christi native Cleofas "Cleo" Rodriguez, Jr., has been selected to lead the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce (Texas). He most recently served as executive director of National Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Association in Washington, D.C.

The Sharonville Chamber of Commerce (Ohio) named Jill Shuller as their next president. Prior to joining the chamber team, Shuller provided facilitation services for the Tri-State Chamber Collaborative. She has served on the Small Business of the Year Committee at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and as a committee member at the Sharonville Chamber. She also served on the board of the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance and was interim executive director of Impact Northern Kentucky.

 

Emily Steele was selected to be the executive director of the Perryville Chamber of Commerce (Mo.). Before assuming the position, Steele was the recreation and operations supervisor at the Perry Park Center.

 

Sheri Winesett has been named the new executive director of the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce (Va.). Winesett comes to the chamber after having worked for Stone Mountain Advisers and Old Dominion Capital Solutions. Before that, she served on the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce executive committee and was president of the Haymarket-Gainesville Business Association.
