Susan M. Davenport was promoted to president and CEO of the Gainesville, Fla., Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to her promotion, Davenport served as the chamber’s vice president of economic development.

Douglas Peters, IOM, AP, was named president and CEO of the Abilene, Texas, Chamber of Commerce. Peters succeeds Jason Smith, who stepped down from his chamber leader post earlier this year. Prior to his move to Abilene, Peters led the Fayetteville, N.C., Chamber of Commerce, which named retired Major General Rodney Anderson as president and CEO of. Anderson, who served in the Army for 33 years, retired as deputy commander of Fort Bragg and the 18th Airborne Corps in 2012.

Tony Siress is the Mountain View,
Calif., Chamber of Commerce’s
new president and CEO. He comes to the job with a business and technology background that includes working for technology leaders, founding and leading start-ups, and leading and building global teams with multi-million dollar budgets. For the past 10 years, Siress led his own venture capital and consulting firm. Most recently, he was founding president of the non-profit Mountain View Public Safety Foundation. Siress replaces former chamber CEO
Oscar Garcia, who resigned earlier this year.

The Alexandria, Va., Chamber of Commerce announced that Joseph V. Haggerty is its new CEO. Haggerty moved to Alexandria from Los Angeles, where he was CEO of the L.A. United Way, to be executive vice president and chief operating officer for United Way Worldwide. He has been a volunteer with the Alexandria Chamber since 2009.

Brian Anderson recently became president and CEO of the Greater Columbus, Ga., Chamber of Commerce. He was president of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce which tapped Rob Bradham as the new chief executive. Bradham was the Chattanooga, Tenn., Area Chamber of Commerce's vice president of public strategies.

The African-American Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware selected Michael W. Banks to serve as the organization’s president. According to The Philadelphia Tribune, Banks recently served as a financial controller for a Philadelphia start-up.

Shelley Short has been named director of programs and marketing by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas. In addition to overseeing the development, management and execution of programs and marketing efforts, Short will also serve as the executive secretary for the Arkansas Economic Developers (AED) and the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE).

The Sharonville Chamber of Commerce, Sharonville, Ohio recently announced Dan Bates as its next president. For the past four years he served as president of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, in Bucks County, Pa.

The Callaway, Mo., Chamber of Commerce’s new executive director is Tamara Fitzpatrick, previously director of operations at the Fort Smith, Ark., Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Cheektowaga, N.Y., Chamber of Commerce hired Kristina Groff as executive director. Groff came to the chamber after spending four years at the American Cancer Society.

The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce has hired Mark Hiegel as its new president and CEO. Hiegel was previously director of marketing and business development for the law firm Greenberg Traurig, as well as a national communications manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Anna Ibold is the new executive director of the Batesville, Ind., Area Chamber of Commerce. Ibold previously served as a board member and vice president with the Sunman, Ind., Area Chamber of Commerce and worked in marketing at Enhanced Telecommunications Corporation.

MetroWest Chamber of Commerce (Mass.) President and CEO Paul Joseph was recently sworn in as a member of Gov. Charlie Baker’s Economic Development Planning Council. The council is tasked with advising Baker on creating an economic development plan for the Commonwealth.

The North Platte, Neb., Area Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation, selected Gary Person to be its new president and CEO. Person spent more than 15 years as the city manager for Sidney, Neb. During that time he was active in economic development efforts for the area and formerly served on the board of the Cheyenne County, Neb., Chamber of Commerce.

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has appointed as her chief of staff Debby Dale Mason, formerly the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce’s chief community development officer.

The Maumelle, Ark., Area Chamber of Commerce named Alicia Gillen as its new executive director. She was previously director of development for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas.

The Woodlands, Texas, Area Chamber of Commerce’s new president and CEO is John H. (J.J.) Hollie, II. He assumed the position following the retirement of former CEO Karen Hoylman who devoted 21 years of service to the organization.

Vonnie Mikkelsen is the new president and CEO of the Springfield, Ore., Area Chamber of Commerce. She previously served as the executive director of the Zephyrhills, Fla., Chamber of Commerce.
