Last week, while participating in the Tri-State Conference of chamber executives (covering KY, OH, IN) in Columbus, OH, ACCE staff learned of the sudden death of Lorie Fall Neal, executive director of the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce. Neal, 40, died on Wednesday, Sept. 25, after becoming ill at her office.
According to Neal’s obituary, she served as the chamber’s director since 2000 and received her IOM accreditation in 2010. Neal served the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio and was on the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission board.
Gallipolis City Manager Randy Finney commented on Neal’s devotion to her community in an article in The Gallipolis Daily Tribune: “The city and county have lost a true ambassador for this area. Lorie always was looking for ways to improve our community and spent many hours organizing events that benefited all of us. She worked with businesses to make sure they had the proper resources to be successful, and she recognized their achievements.”
