America’s Edge and ReadyNation both identify, mobilize and support business leaders to educate the public and policymakers about the economic impact of investments in children. Both groups have collaborated closely with and provided technical assistance to many state, regional and local chambers of commerce.
“I’m confident this consolidation will create a more unified, more powerful business-led voice to support the proven education policies essential to building a globally competitive workforce,” said Ian Scott, ACCE’s Vice President of Communications and Networks. Scott serves on the advisory board for Ready Nation.
The combined entity will operate under the Council for a Strong America umbrella. Work of the two organizations will continue under both names during the transition, until the merged entity’s name is determined this summer. Sara Watson, Ph.D. currently executive vice president for partner engagement at America’s Promise and director of ReadyNation, will join the Council for a Strong America to direct the combined entity.
