ACCE's Education Attainment Division (EAD) is Now Accepting Applications for the Education Attainment Awards Program

Published Friday, April 1, 2016

ACCE’s EAD announces today that it will be accepting applications through the month of April for the 2016-2017 Award for Education Attainment program. Eligible ACCE member chambers that have demonstrated momentum in setting education attainment agendas and established innovative postsecondary education attainment goals and strategies will be considered for a one-time $40,000 stimulus award.

The program, launched in 2014, seeks to recognize chambers for their existing efforts to grow the number of individuals in their communities with postsecondary degrees and other high quality credentials and accelerate their postsecondary education attainment goals. In addition to flexible funding, award program participants receive technical and planning assistance, and access to a powerful network of national thought-leaders who provide guidance as they expand their postsecondary success initiatives. ACCE’s EAD aims to expand and deepen their work as well as share successes to build replicable and scalable practices among ACCE's membership.

To apply, applicants must complete the (1) EAD's Self-Assessment, a chamber's self-diagnostic tool to identify its strengths and opportunities to engage or amplify its education and workforce development efforts, and (2) the Education Attainment Award application by Friday, April 29th at 5 p.m. (EST). Finalists will be announced on or around July 1st. As this is a one-time award, applicants will be required to address how they plan to sustain their postsecondary attainment efforts after the award period ends.

Factors that strengthen a chamber's application include the following: established benchmarks to measure success and track progress to meeting postsecondary education goals; defined commitment to education attainment, and specifically postsecondary, in the chamber's strategic plan; and involvement in community partnerships related to postsecondary attainment.

For more information about the program, please email Analidia Blakely or call (213) 580-7551. Visit www.acce.org/ead to learn more about other EAD program opportunities.
