The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' (ACCE) revealed two Best in Show award winners for its Awards for Communication Excellence competition. The winners were announced during ACCE’s annual convention in Savannah, August 9-12.
In category one, representing chambers with budgets above $1 million, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, Okla., took home the Best in Show honor for their VeloCity online magazine. The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce in Greer, S.C., won the Best in Show award for category two, representing chambers with budgets below $1 million, for its “Greer-Made” campaign.
The Awards for Communication Excellence (ACE) program honors outstanding initiatives in four categories of chamber communications: Advertising and Marketing, Publications, Electronic, and Campaigns. Entries are separated into two categories based on budget: those above $1 million and those below that amount. In each category, judges declare one entry as the Grand Award winner. Judges then select a Best in Show winner from the four Grand Award winners in each of the two flights.
“Chambers are often the catalyst for community advancement, and they communicate not only with their business constituents, but also with the broader populations of the towns, cities or regions they serve,” says Mick Fleming, ACCE president. “These awards spotlight excellence in content, design, execution, and most importantly, the positive outcomes chambers create as they go about the work of coordinating efforts that benefit communities.”
