Human Resources

Many chambers provide talent attraction and workforce development services in the regions they serve. But finding and cultivating talent for your chamber remains a crucial and challenging task. While chambers often can't compete with the private sector on compensation, they can provide a strong organizational culture and mission-driven work where employees can make an impact in the communities they serve.

It is crucial for chamber leaders to stay up to date on the latest HR practices to promote positive work environments in order to retain top talent. Factors like professional development opportunities, flexibility, work-life balance are more important than ever.

With changing demographics in our communities, it is also vital that our chambers seek to develop a staff that reflects the demographics of the communities they serve. Chambers across the country are reviewing legacy processes and procedures and adopting more intentional policies to foster diverse and inclusive workplaces.
