Annual Report 2013 - Baton Rouge Area Chamber

To maintain support from the regional business community, it is critical that investors in the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) remain informed of the progress of the organization and are aware of how their contributions are making an impact. BRAC creates an annual report each year to highlight economic development wins, strides made in public policy, and impacts made on quality of life.

2013 was a record-breaking year for BRAC and the Baton Rouge Area. Projects were announced that transformed the economic climate and national recognition was received several times. It was critical for investors to understand their role in this success. The report highlighted those achievements, while also reporting on the progress made in The Creative Capital Agenda, BRAC’s 2011-2015 strategic plan for economic development, which is outlined by six core strategies.

Object 9, a Baton Rouge-based marketing firm, executed the design and printing of the publication. The forty-seven-page book was packaged in a box, similar to what consumers would receive when purchasing high-end electronics, as a way to grab attention and generate interest. The overall design was very modern. Inside of the box was a printed report, filled with interesting graphics and custom photographs, as well as a summary of economic development activities. A companion website was developed to further highlight the accomplishments, provide intriguing videos that supported the report, and give investors another viewing avenue.

The success of the report is seen in investor retention rates. In 2014, over 90% of BRAC investors renewed their investment. Without the information provided in the annual report, investors would not be able to understand the impact of their investment and see the critical work being done by the organization. While BRAC makes great efforts to keep investors informed on a weekly basis, one concise annual summary is often all the top decision-makers with a company have time to review in depth.

The annual report budget was $80,000, which included print and package design, printing, web development, and shipping.
