Bull City Startup Stampede
It may sound like a reality TV show, but itís way cooler.
The Startup Stampede selects a handful of aspiring entrepreneurs from hundreds of applicants and brings them to downtown Durham for 60 days. They share office space, Wi-Fi and a common goal - build their concept into a company. During the program they meet with lawyers, bankers, marketers and proven entrepreneurs to refine their business plans and understand what success will take.
For the Durham Chamber, the Startup Stampede got a promising flock of entrepreneurs engaged in the chamber and excited about Durham on a shoestring budget. Along the way they won significant media attention, reached a large non-traditional audience, and involved dozens of business and community partners.
