Horizon 2035: Resilience in an Age of Disruption

The ability to navigate disruption, adapt to change and emerge stronger has become a defining capability for successful chambers.
Communities of all sizes face increased disruption, rapid technology change, political fragmentation and workforce realignment. The pace of change is compounding. To help chamber leaders navigate this environment, ACCE has added a new Linchpin Influence to Horizon 2035: Resilience.
This new influence explores how chambers can strengthen their ability to adapt, evolve and lead effectively through continuous change. It focuses on resilience at three interconnected levels:
- Individual Resilience: Sustaining leaders, staff and volunteer leadership through increasing complexity and change
- Organizational Resilience: Building agile chambers with adaptable strategies, governance structures and business models
- Community Resilience: Helping regions prepare for disruption while strengthening long-term economic competitiveness
The need for resilience is not new, but the speed, complexity and interconnected nature of today’s disruptions are raising the consequences of being unprepared. Resilience is no longer about bouncing back. It’s about adapting forward.
We encourage chamber leaders to review Horizon 2035 with their staff, boards and volunteer leadership and use these influences to guide conversations about the future of your organization and community.
