ACCE-IEDC Certificate in Workforce Development Fundamentals
ACCE and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) present this joint certificate program for chamber staff and economic development professionals to further their knowledge of workforce development.
Chambers of commerce and economic development organizations are increasingly recognizing the link between talent development and business attraction and retention. Closing workforce and education gaps and building a system that ensures economic opportunity for everyone is critical.
The Certificate in Workforce Development Fundamentals program will consist of:
- Six virtual sessions held from 2 - 3:30 p.m. ET on the following dates in 2024:
- January 25 - Overview & Foundations for Effective Talent Development
- February 1 - Understanding the K-12 System
- February 8 - Understanding the Postsecondary System
- February 15 - Engaging Workforce Development Systems
- February 22 - External Factors Influencing Talent
- February 29 - Key Concepts in Talent Attraction
- One online exam at the conclusion of the program
Upon successful completion of the virtual sessions and online exam, each attendee will receive a digital certificate and social media badge from ACCE and IEDC to showcase their achievement in this inaugural program.
ACCE will also offer three (3) points towards the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) program as well as maintenance. IEDC will provide three (3) Level-I points towards Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) recertification requirements.
