Build Your Foundation in Workforce Development

Education and Talent / September 11, 2025

Certificate in Workforce Development Fundamentals is presented by the ACCE Foundation and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

Talent is the number one driver of business success, and communities that can attract, retain and grow talent are the ones that thrive. That is why chambers of commerce and economic development organizations are sharpening their focus on workforce development, making the Workforce Development Certificate Program the perfect opportunity for chamber professionals to get ahead.

This joint program is designed for chamber staff and economic development professionals with five or fewer years of experience. Whether you are new to the field or looking to strengthen your foundation, you will walk away with actionable tools to support your community and your career.

Over six interactive virtual sessions, participants will explore strategies and tactics to:

  • Close workforce gaps and prepare talent pipelines
  • Boost business attraction and retention by aligning talent with employer needs
  • Expand economic opportunity and support inclusive growth

The link between workforce development and business success has never been clearer. Employers are choosing communities based on talent availability. By building your expertise in workforce development, you will not only support your organization’s mission but also directly impact your community’s future.

“Participating in the ACCE Workforce Development program offered numerous benefits, but the most impactful takeaway for me has been the development and implementation of a workforce ecosystem map,” said David Carroll, director of existing industry at Jeffco EDC. “Whether I’m conducting a business retention visit or engaging in a sector meeting, having a clear understanding of the organizations involved in workforce training, funding and advocacy has proven invaluable. This tool has significantly enhanced my ability to navigate and support our local workforce landscape.”
