  • The Nashville Area Chamber’s leadership highlighted the vital role public-private partnerships play in the pursuit of regional prosperity in a recent op-ed. The chamber’s Partnership 2030 initiative aims to grow the economy and create jobs by relocating and expanding businesses, building a talented and creative workforce and promoting a high quality of life for all.
  • In a recent interview, Little Rock Regional Chamber President & CEO Jay Chesshir, CCE, IOM, discussed the chamber’s economic development successes and ongoing job growth throughout the region.
  • The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro launched a new campaign to promote economic growth by investing in workforce development, accelerating small business growth and increasing housing supply and affordability. The three areas of focus were determined by the chamber’s Big Bold Ideas initiative that collected and sorted more than 500 ideas for a wide cross section of community stakeholders.
  • A recent Missouri Chamber survey of more then 500 business leaders across the state identified soft skills, child care access and crime as the top issues facing the state’s businesses.
  • The Staten Island Chamber recently held a meeting that brought together law enforcement officials, politicians and business leaders to discuss threat of retail crime facing the region’s businesses.
  • The Georgia Chamber held its annual diversity, equity and inclusion summit, which focused on creating inclusive workplace environments, advancing anti-racist policies and highlighting strategies for creating a successful multigenerational workforce.
  • The Greater Memphis Chamber announced it will open a new $15 million, 104,000-square-foot workforce development training center. “For years, we’ve known that the key to upskilling our region’s workforce is getting all our resources under one roof,” Greater Memphis Chamber President & CEO Ted Townsend said. “I’m excited to announce that we now have a home for this center, which will let anyone in our community walk through our doors and receive the training and wraparound services they need to transform their lives.
  • Several Indiana chambers of commerce and chamber foundations received grants to help expand employer subsidized child care benefits. In total, $18.1 million was awarded to 64 entities to address workforce issues stemming from potential employers not being able to secure child care.
  • The St. Petersburg Chamber partnered with Eckerd College to launch the Sunshine City Happiness Study to help understand the factors influencing the well-being of the region’s workforce.
  • The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce in Kansas and a group of regional partners launched the Elevate Fund, a new micro-loan program to support startups. Entrepreneurs will be able to access loans of up to $15,000.
